Ursuline Convent School is a Christian Institution established and administered
by the religious Congregation of the
Ursuline Sister of Mary Immaculate, founded
on 17th February, 1649 at Piacenza in Italy by Blessed Mother Brigida Morello.
The School aims at the education of the Catholic community around and extends its
service to members of other communities to the extent possible. The school stands for academic
excellence, development of skills and character-formation based on the love of God
and the service of the people as modeled in Jesus Christ with a view to train citizens
for remarkable all-round development and sincere commitment to God and country.
Value Education given to all students aims at inculcating in them right values and
attitudes.
The School will conduct classes up to Std. XII in accordance with the 10+2 pattern
of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.
THE CURRICULUM
The school is affiliated to the
CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education, New
Delhi).
At present the school has classes from L.K.G. to X and intends to go up to the senior
secondary (10+2). Formal teaching begins at class 1 level where subjects like English,
Hindi, Maths, Environmental Studies, Art and Craft and Computer Studies are introduced.
Sanskrit as third language is introduced at class V.
NCERT syllabus is followed
in the middle school classes and
CBSE syllabus is followed in the senior classes.
The school conducts special courses in
physical training, Athletics, Karate, Music
and Dance, Regular literary activities, picnics and Excursion form an integral part
of the curriculum.
The
medium of instruction is English and the school will eventually provide education
to both boys and girls for a 12-year course as under:
Class I to V - Junior School
Class VI to VIII - Middle School
Class IX to XII - Senior School
